Those floors are gorgeous! I’m in love with your house.
Isn’t it a sin they were covered up with plush pile red carpet for ages?!! Thankfully before I moved in the piece over in that corner was loose and I pulled it up and saw the amazing potential underneath so I knew what my house *could* be like, at least floor-wise.
But of course when I heard Darren Hanlon’s song “House” that line..oh where were the poor little ghosts of the footsteps we’d taken, trapped ‘neath the carpets now covering those beautiful boards...it reminded me of my little project.
And before the red carpet there was LIME GREEN SHAG. No shit. And upstairs the floors are almost as nice, no design pattern in the corners but still with the inlay. I only got the disgusting dry-rotted ancient shag rug out of my bedroom, the other 2 still have the plush pile rugs. I’ll get to them someday…
